BackRub: A Search Engine Based on Google's "Gown"

BackRub was originally known as Back. The development of the search engine was started in 1996 by Sergey Brin and Larry Page as a research project at the University of California. Larry and Sergey decided to change the name of their search engine to "gown", which is a reference to the term "oogol".

The company is located in California. The company incorporated on September 4, 1998 had the domain google.com. The picture below is a representation of the site in 1998 from The Internet Archive.

There are many different options for customized searches, using symbols to include, exclude, specify or require certain search behavior, and also offers specialized interactive experiences, such as flight status and package tracking, weather forecasts, currency, unit, and time conversions, word definitions, and more. The main purpose of the search is to find text in public documents that are publicly accessible, as opposed to other data such as images or data in databases.

When it was announced that comments on videos on the website would be made through the social network, it made even more unpopular the requirement that users use their real names.

That requirement is gone, and it's great to have it. It's a place to help make them better, and that's why it's useful to those who love the world of apps. Due to its integration with the Play Store, the popular apps Nova Launcher, CCleaner, and Beautiful Widgets are tested in a public way.
