Right angle cords can help protect people from injury and help guard plugged-in devices from accidental damage. The best position for a cord is parallel to the wall. A power cord with a straight plug will run parallel to the wall more naturally than a right angle cord.

A right angle cord is a popular choice for power extension cords placed behind furniture or in areas with high foot traffic. Internal computer hardware component cables are connected to the computer through right angle cables. Even in tight spaces where a standard cable connection won't fit, a right angle connector can help make room for hardware cable connections.

Banana Plugs

The Banana plug has a unique tip. The metal leaves bulge outward to create a strong contact in the sockets. The leaves prevent the connection from failing when it's in motion or vibrates.

Banana Plugs are usually connected to wire by screw, solder or crimp. Banana plugs are usually black and red. They follow the standard colour codes; 0 - Black, 1 - Brown, 2 - Red, 3 - Orange, 4 - Yellow, 5 - Green, 6 - Blue, 7 -Violet, 8 - Grey, 9 - White.

Banana Plugs offer three different sleeve options; shrouded, unshrouded and retractable. Banana Plugs with a shrouded sleeve are used in high-voltage applications. A banana plug with a retractable sleeve has a shroud cover that slides out of the way when the pin is inserted into a banana jack or banana sockets.

The retractable shroud improves safety and is used in higher voltages. Two plugs are simply dual plugs. They are designed for use with speakers that use traditional binding posts.

A center contact has a first section that extends along the front of the sleeve, a second section that extends from the front of the sleeve to the center contact member, and a third section that extends from the center contact member to the outside. A right angle coaxial plug connector consists of a mounting member in an upper surface which is in communication with a hole in the channel. A contact pin is extended from the bottom of the mounting member.

A center contact is located along a tubular outer contact, which is secured by an electrical current. A pin section extends from the mounting member parallel to the pin contact, while a front section of the center contact extends from the outer contact.
