The Kadambas of Goa

Pushyamitra Shunga ruled for 36 years and was succeeded by his son. There were rulers from Shunga. The empire rapidly collapsed after the death of Agnimitra, and there were many small kingdoms and city-states that were independent of Shunga.

The empire has had wars with both foreign and indigenous powers. They fought battles with the Mahameghavahana dynasty of Kalinga, Satavahana dynasty of Deccan, the Indo-Greeks, and the Panchalas and Mitras of Mathura. Kadambas was founded in 345CE by Mayurasharma, who later showed the potential of developing into an imperial empire, as an indication to which the titles and epithets assumed by its rulers were provided.

King Mayurasharma defeated the armies of Pallavas of Kanchi with the help of some native tribes. The Kadamba fame reached its peak during the rule of the ruler of the Gupta Dynasty of northern India, who cultivated alliances with other people. The Kadambas were the first native kingdoms to rule the land with absolute authority.
