Time and Space
The definition of time does not address the fundamental nature of it. It doesn't address why events can happen in space and in time, instead it only addresses why events happen in the forward progress of time. Physicists defined the spacetime continuum after investigating the relationship between space and time.
General relativity is the main framework for understanding spacetime, and it has been shown that time can be distorted and dilated at the edges of black holes. The Global positioning system, Coordinated Universal Time, and mean solar time are some of the systems used to determine time. The numbers obtained from different time systems are different.
