The Gini Index and the Historical Population of Mangum, OK

The largest city in the county is Mangum. It is located in central Oklahoma near the North Fork Red River. The 1910 census is the beginning of the population records for Mangum.

The population was recorded in 1910 as 3667. The median multiple is the ratio of median house price to annual household income. How long would it take for the median income to pay off the median home price?

The higher values show that the incomes in the area are not high enough to justify the higher home prices. Anything under 3 is considered affordable while higher values mean that housing is not. The Gini coefficients are used to measure income inequality.

Lower values show that household income is spread evenly. One income group is more common than others. The historical population of Mangum, OK in each census year since 1790 is derived from census records and historical state references.

The US and historical city populations have been altered. The racial and ethnic diversity index shows the probability that any two people from the same race or ethnic group will be different. The University of North Carolina and USA Today developed it in 1991 and adapted it in 2000 to account for the different Census questions.
